The Summer House – Siesta Key Restaurant Highlight

A vacation in paradise is only made better with the fine dining experiences offered in Siesta Key Village. The Summer House Restaurant is one of the most popular restaurants around, beloved for its delicious food, exquisite service, and a distinct ambiance. Their “put people first” philosophy is sure to make you feel right at home, and the food will leave you wanting more.

History of the Restaurant

Locals will remember Summer House Restaurant from the 1970s, a local favorite to all Sarasotans, the site of many proms, wedding receptions, bar and bat mitzvahs. This Summer House closed in 2004, but the new Summer House pays homage to it while developing a concept that is completely original.

The architecture is nothing like the old restaurant, and it includes tall windows, an amatory bar, and a museum-quality 1,000-gallon, 10,000-pound, 14-foot long fish tank, designed exclusively for the restaurant.

Even though its doors only opened in 2018, the new Summer House Restaurant has quickly aspired to its predecessor’s level of popularity.

Popular Menu Items

Steak is the main menu item. Options include New York strips, filet mignons, sirloins, ribeyes, and a 40-ounce porterhouse for two, all prepared on the 1200-degree Montague Grill by experienced chefs. Meat is sourced from natural and self-sustained farms, such as Niman Ranch, Revier Cattle Company, and Snake River Farms, considered among the most prestigious ranches in the country.

Given Siesta Key’s seaside location, seafood is a natural menu choice. Salmon, oysters, crab cakes, lobster tails are all favorites among diners. For vegetarians or those with dietary restrictions, delicious sides such as wild local mushrooms and Boursin mashed potatoes are available. Gluten-free items are clearly marked on the menu. Fresh fruit juices and hand-made cocktails are a great refreshment. And to end the meal, don’t forget to try Summer House’s key lime tarte or cheesecake for dessert!

International wines of the highest quality are sure to delight. Wine sommeliers have spent hours wine testing in the Napa Valley, Oregon, and Italy to produce the wine menu available. With dozens of wines from California, Europe, and South America, you will certainly find the right wine for your palate.
