Best Places Near Siesta Key to See Fireworks

Bursts of color in the sky, clinking of glasses, and kisses as the clock strikes midnight is a magical experience that only happens once a year. Fireworks are one a favorite New Year’s Eve activity, whether at home or on holiday at Siesta Key vacation homes.

While there aren’t any organized New Year’s Eve fireworks on Siesta Key, there are a few great spots nearby to watch the sky light up as you count down to 2018.

Marina Jack Restaurant

Location: 2 Marina Plaza, Sarasota, FL

For the best fireworks over Sarasota Bay, great food, and live music, head to Marina Jack, one of the city’s most popular waterfront dining spots a 15-minute drive from Siesta Key. On December 31, a pyrotechnic display of lights and colors will fill the sky as the clock strikes midnight, reflecting off the waters of the bay.

Four-course New Year’s Eve menus will be served in all areas of the restaurant, and live music will be performed on the patio. The Dining Room and the Deep Six Lounge & Piano Bar will be serving special four-course menus that include a midnight champagne toast and some fun party favors.

Live music begins at 9 p.m. at the Blue Sunshine Patio Bar & Grill, with a New Year’s dinner seating at 7 p.m. A New Year’s Eve dinner and dancing boat cruise is also available for those who want to watch the show from the water. Reservations are required.

Bayfront Park

For family-friendly fireworks viewing, heading to Bayfront Park, a large public popular among families for picnics, events, and general fun in the sun. The park is located across from Marina Jack on the other side of the bay, a five-minute drive away.

This popular gathering place is a great spot to view midnight fireworks put on by Marina Jack and Suncoast Charities for Children – without the cost of a New Year’s Eve dinner and drinks. Pack a picnic-style meal and watch the light show with your special someone or family with a blanket on the ground.

From anywhere along the waterfront near Marina Jack, including Golden Gate Point neighborhood, you’ll be able to see the display. Stake out your spot along the shore or aboard a boat in the bay and enjoy the show.

The Beach House

For those who want to check out Anna Maria Island, Siesta Key’s neighbor vacation spot a 40-minute drive north, New Year’s Eve might be the night to do it. The Beach House, one of the area’s renowned restaurants, lets you watch a spectacular show of fireworks with your toes in the sand.

For those who want to savor the incredible food at The Beach House, it’s best to reserve a table ahead of time. The special New Year’s Eve dinner includes multiple courses, party favors, valet parking, and a champagne toast at midnight. Guests are also welcome to watch the fireworks from the sand.

Sharky’s On The Pier

For fireworks on the Venice Pier, take a drive 30 minutes south of Siesta Key, to Sharky’s On The Pier, a restaurant and tiki bar famous for its seafood and regular live music. This popular restaurant will be hosting a fantastic New Year’s Eve bash that includes great music and fireworks.

Their annual New Year’s Eve fireworks show has become a local favorite, as it allows you to watch the fireworks show over the water from the long pier or from the restaurant.

Chameleon, southwest Florida’s premier party and dance band, will be playing upbeat, contemporary hits from 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
