Summer House

To start off our list, you don’t even have to leave the shores of Siesta Key to get a great steak. The Summer House is an area staple that’s been serving locals and visitors alike since the 1970s. When you step in, you’ll immediately notice the 1,000-gallon fish tank that holds some stunning species before being led to your table, where you can order a New York strip, sirloin, ribeye, porterhouse, or any other type of steak that strikes your fancy. They also have several fresh seafood entrees, mouthwatering vegetarian options, and an international selection of wines to complement any menu selection.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar

For a truly luxurious Sarasota fine dining experience, visit Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar in Sarasota. Opt to dine inside in the elegant dining room or enjoy your meal on the outdoor patio for dinner with a view. Of course, you’ll find a wide variety of steaks, including filet mignon, Angus, tomahawk, and ribeye, as well as plenty of other entrees featuring chicken and seafood. For those with dietary restrictions, Fleming’s has a special gluten-free menu as well! Alpine Steakhouse

If you’re seeking an experience that’s slightly more casual but just as delicious, make your way to Alpine Steakhouse Meats & Deli. Their tagline says it all: “Sarasota’s only old-fashioned restaurant & meat market under one roof and home of the TurDucKen!” This establishment has been featured on the Food Network hit show Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives and has received multiple Readers’ Choice Awards in Sarasota Magazine for the “Best Restaurant for Steak!” Their steaks are always prime Midwestern beef that’s naturally aged for maximum flavor and tenderness. Go for a smaller 8-ounce chopped sirloin, or go big with a 24-ounce T-bone! Whatever you’re in the mood for, you’re sure to find it at Alpine Steakhouse. 

Element

Element offers an upscale dining experience that’s anything but complicated. The minimalist interior and the simplistic menu allow the fresh ingredients and entrees to speak for themselves. If you’re coming for steak, you can select a filet, New York strip, or tri-tip. Then, enhance your selection with truffle butter, a red wine demi, horseradish mustard sauce, or the Black & Bleu. You can also add on a complement of scallops, sambuca shrimp, or blackened shrimp, and of course, get a signature cocktail to round out your meal. While this restaurant is known for their steaks, they have incredible seafood and pasta selections as well!

Michael’s on East

Michael’s on East has been serving Sarasota since 1987 and has solidified itself as a favorite destination for locals and visitors alike. Their menu is expansive and includes selections like seafood dishes, pasta entrees, innovative salads, and more. Still, we know you’re here to learn about the steaks! This establishment uses only the finest handpicked USDA Certified prime steaks that have been aged for a minimum of 25 days. You can select the Prime Porterhouse Dinner for Two for date night, or for a solo meal, you can select the filet mignon, New York strip, or bone-in ribeye.

The Capital Grille

Located within the University Town Center in Sarasota, The Capital Grille offers upscale dishes in a warm and welcoming setting. One of the biggest favorites on the menu here is the dry-aged New York strip, which you can get all on its own or with a flavorful Courvoisier Cream sauce. They also offer a huge bone-in ribeye or filet mignon. If someone in your group wants to try something different, there are chicken, lamb, and seafood entrees as well. All in all, The Capital Grille provides a one-of-a-kind experience with carefully thought-out dishes and an inviting atmosphere perfect for any occasion. 

Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse

Right in the middle of downtown Sarasota, Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse is a cozy eatery that truly makes every single guest feel right at home. When you arrive, you’ll be able to dine in the dining room or outdoors in the covered dining terrace, offering a quaint sidewalk café atmosphere. (There’s even a fireplace to keep you warm on cooler winter evenings!) Their steak selections range from simple and classic to indulgent and sumptuous. Some of the most popular options include the Australian Wagyu Filet Mignon, the Garlic Steak, and the Steak a la Lobster. Pair your steak with one of their unique sauces and fresh sides for a complete dinner fit for royalty. 

Michael John’s

If you’re searching for a fresh take on the classic steak, you won’t want to miss a dinner at Michael John’s. This French-American steakhouse takes all the best parts of these two different culinary styles and combines them into a unique experience. MJ’s, as it’s sometimes called, has been an area staple since 2006. It continues to provide mouthwatering dishes, personal service, and a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. As far as your steak options, you’ll find delicious selections like the Delmonico ribeye, filet mignon, and filet pinot. All beef here is aged for at least 12 days and is seasoned and finished with a special garlic-herb butter. Your entrée will also come with complimentary mixed vegetables and butter whipped potatoes. 

Bourbon and Bones

We’ve got one last restaurant on our list that’s a bit outside of Sarasota, but trust us, it’s worth the trip! In nearby Lakewood Ranch, you’ll find Bourbon and Bones Chophouse and Market. They offer the highest quality steaks possible for a perfect meal every time. Every steak (whether it’s the Manhattan strip, ribeye, filet mignon, sirloin, or another selection) is Certified Angus Beef that’s aged for at least 30 days before being served on scorching hot 300-degree plates and topped with luxurious cream and butter. As the restaurant’s name suggests, this establishment also offers a wide range of bourbons and spirits, perfect for relaxing with your friends or treating yourself to a night out on the town.
